This flower essence came to us through a walking meditation...as I was participating in a flower essense workshop at an earthskills gathering in North Carolina.
We were encouraged to go for a walk and stay open to receiving guidance and listening to what flowers would like to come and play.
As I started walking I saw a few flowers here and there...and a white one almost pulled me in to sit with her, but I decided to keep walking.
I suddenly saw this bright yellow, although very small flower, shining bright in the mid-day sun.
It was so small and seemingly insignificant, I wasn't sure that I wanted to stay.
But then I heard this loud voice within, almost laughing at me, "I'm not enough for you?!"
It made me stop and sit, to see if I could hear any other messages.
As I sat down on the earth and I dropped in with how I was feeling, I remembered the previous night I had of absolutely no sleep, but then I became aware of how alert, focused, calm and at peace I felt.
I could feel the 'little light' that was turning on and activating within what I perceived to be my pineal gland. And looking down at this little yellow flower, I felt it was symbolic to the pineal and awakening the inner sight within.
This little flower was one of my first experiences with listening to the flowers...and then coming back to the group and reflecting on how we all received messages from the flowers that were very similar to other reflections of those same flowers - meaning that if we can quiet ourselves to really tune in and listen, we can receive resonant stories from the plants. They are waiting to share with us - it is up to us to choose to hear and receive what they have to offer.
Black Medic flower essence
All essences have been made in ceremony. I like to greet the spirit of the muse - and offer a prayer & a piece of me - whether that is a song, some of my hair, or tears…
Crystal bowls are laid in full sun, and filled with the highest quality water available to me in any given moment - most often I use spring water that I’ve either harvested myself, or bought from glass bottles. Spring water, especially if it has been freshly harvested, is living water, and it is able to hold the consciousness of whatever is being infused into it at a much more constructive and resonant frequency.
If the plant/flower/mineral/etc is rare or endangered, I use a ‘no-touch’ method, but for most of these essences, I’ve felt comfortable being able to pick the various plants to infuse on the surface of the water for the sunniest part of the day (I also like to make essences on full sun days, with as little cloud coverage as possible...unless it’s a flower that only blooms at night ;)
I use the leaves of the same plant I’m working with to assist in picking the flowers with the least amount of interference.
The flower essence waters are preserved with a grape alcohol (non-alcohol options are available, please contact for info).
